Visit from Paul Singleton, a Textile and Surface Pattern Designer

We were very lucky on Friday to have Paul Singleton a Textile and Surface Pattern Designer from Plymouth College of Art and Design [http://www.plymouthart.ac.uk/] come and talk to us about the courses and facilities on offer there.  He also kindly brought a portfolio of his own textile designs to show students.   Paul has worked with a number of well-known brands such as Macy’s of New York, Harlequin, Urban Outfitters and Samsung, and his designs have been sold worldwide.

It was a really insightful afternoon, with Paul talking about the commercial considerations and realities of working within the industry, and students were able to handle and discuss the exciting range of work.  

Art students from across the department attended, including BTEC Extended & 90 Credit Diploma, Foundation Diploma and A-level.
